The Blythswood Hotel, Blythswood Square, Glasgow

Formerly the RAC Club, the existing category B listed property on the East Side of Glasgow’s Blythswood Square, was converted into a four star luxury hotel in 2007.

GCA Design were commissioned in 2015 to carry out a new 12 bedroom extension, internal alterations and refurbishment of the existing hotel bedroom accommodation. The works included a rooftop extension and extensive upgrading to the existing 5th floor Penthouse Suite.

GCA Design provided full architectural services, working in conjunction with the Glasgow based project interior designers, Graven. The works were carried out in a phased manner to allow the hotel to remain fully operational at all times. Work to create and refurbish all 114 bedrooms was completed in 2018.
